Goldman Sachs, Visa & Mick Mulvaney Joins Leading Blockchain Trade Association
On Wednesday, the Chamber of Digital Commerce reported the addition of Visa, Goldman Sachs and Six Digital Exchange (SDX) to its executive board of committee. Mick Mulvaney, a previous White House Chief of Staff and a co founder of the Congressional Blockchain Caucus will likewise be joining the chamber’s leading group of advisors.
Mulvaney left the White House in March. On the board, including Don Tapscott of the Blockchain Research Institute and previous CFTC Chairman Chris Giancarlo, who is presently with the Digital Dollar Project.
As to arrangement of the advisory board, President and Founder Perianne Boring explained that:
It’s important that when we have diverse views, because when you’re working on public policy, your work impacts everybody. It impacts the entire ecosystem. So you need to make sure you really understand the full scope of an industry and how potential policy could impact everybody.
With regards to the addition of Visa and Goldman Sachs, it follows a proceeding with pattern of more prominent crypto commitment by payments and banking monsters. Visa’s head of crypto Cuy Sheffield said “Visa continuously explores new payment innovations like digital currencies and how they might be able to connect to or expand our existing network and products.”
